As a transition for the 09-10 interns, we have now bestowed on them the title of Guide. After hanging with me all year, they've earned it. Part of that role includes some responsibilities for the AZ team - opportunities that they are free to initiate. It's a leadership pipeline albeit a small one. We used to think about growing leaders for mostly a specific ministry. It seems like now we are trying to grow leaders for things that haven't even been imagined yet.
And the symbol of the title "guide" is a plastic apron?

ReplyDeleteand although i was kidding about the symbol of intern, maybe it really is the symbol of guide - these guys are serious about serving, which is inspiring. totally didn't even think about that when i chose that picture for the post. interesting huh?
