Poverty, Stewardship, Potential

"The idealization of poverty is one of the most dangerous illusions of Christians in the contemporary world. Stewardship - which requires possessions and includes giving - is the true spiritual discipline in relation to wealth." - Dallas Willard

JM sent this quote to me in an email [used with permission] conversation related to this: I meet a lot of suburban students that want to be poor. In most cases, this is an incorrect posture for future ministry. Willard nails it spot on with stewardship and I would throw in the concept of potential in there as well.
